TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF RECEIPT OF ARTICLES

2026-04-24
Dear authors and collaborators,   We inform you that, as of today, the journal Macambira will temporarily suspend the receipt of new submissions. This measure is necessary due to the changes we are implementing in our editorial policy, which will be published in the coming weeks.   It is important to emphasize that we have been working to ensure the financial and technical sustainability of the journal with our own resources and without institutional support, which has become more challenging given the new CAPES evaluation standards (in effect as of 2025), which prioritize internationalization and inclusion in strategic indexers such as SCOPUS, WOS, and SciELO.   During the suspension period, we will be reassessing our management model to make the journal more agile and sustainable, with the aim of:   Establishing mechanisms that cover only operational costs;   Hiring specialized editorial support to streamline the flow of submission, compliance with guidelines, editing, and article finalization, reducing review time;   Offering continuing education for editors and reviewers;   Pursuing viable partnership alternatives to ensure financial sustainability without compromising the journal's editorial independence.   Important:   Manuscripts already submitted and in progress will continue their review process, and in due course, their authors will be notified of changes to editorial policies.   Proofreading, translation, and other complementary services will remain the responsibility of the authors.   Once the new editorial policy is approved and published, we will reopen submissions with clear guidelines for authors, reviewers, and the editorial team.   We thank everyone for their understanding and reaffirm our commitment to open science, editorial quality, and the appreciation of the work of authors, reviewers, and editors.   Further information will be provided soon.   Editorial Team – Macambira Journal (LaPPRuDes/IF Baiano)
