Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe about my maternal grandmother’s house that was preserved for the maintenance of this ancestor as well as for the descendants and neighbors. Emerges from my look as a black woman, of rural origin, nurse and nursing teacher who in the professional practice in the hospital, argues that when caring for the hospitalized person, it is also necessary to care for the family/ relatives accompanying. In view of the above, my research, from the doctorate, led me to reflect and research about my own family in the research group Family, (Self) Biography and Poetics, being one of the objects at home and, in this case, the house of my grandmother with whom I lived until my adulthood. It is a house that gave me the experience of hospitality, care for the promotion and restoration of health. In addition, at present, it is materialized in its concreteness by memories and memories for my generation and the generations to come, friends and neighbors.
